A bond used in brick paving and parquet floors for a long time before anyone called it an illusion. Two planks lie side by side, the next two across them, and the alternation alone suggests a weave. There is no overlap anywhere and nothing is drawn passing behind anything. Giving the two directions slightly different tones commits to the reading, which is why a floor laid this way looks woven in daylight and flat under a lamp.
